-더라도

Even if

-더라도 means “even if” for a case you are imagining or supposing — it hasn't happened, or you don't know whether it will. It is stronger than -아/어도. For something that really did happen, use -지만 or -았/었는데도 instead.

  • 비가 오더라도 내일 꼭 갈게요.

  • 힘들더라도 포기하지 마세요.

    Even if it's hard, don't give up.

  • 모르는 단어가 있더라도 끝까지 읽어 보세요.

    Even if there are words you don't know, try reading to the end.
