Learn Hangul
Hangul was designed to be learned quickly — its shapes follow the sounds. Eight short lessons take you from six vowels to reading real words, with Sori’s voice for all 129 syllables and words and the stroke order for every one.
Start with lesson 1
- 1 Six vowels Hangul is a sound alphabet. Start with the six plain vowels. The circle ㅇ in front is silent — it only holds the vowel’s place. 아 어 오 우
- 2 Nine consonants + ㅏ A consonant never stands alone — it is written with a vowel. Here each one takes ㅏ. 가 나 다 라
- 3 The table Every syllable is just a consonant meeting a vowel. Read across, then down. 가 거 고 구
- 4 Y-vowels Add a second stroke and the vowel gets a y in front. 야 여 요 유
- 5 Air and tension Three versions of the same consonant: plain, with a puff of air, and tight. Say them in a row and feel the difference. 가 카 까 다
- 6 Compound vowels Two vowel shapes written together. Say the parts fast and they become one sound. 애 에 얘 예
- 7 Final consonants A consonant can close the syllable underneath. Twenty-seven letters can sit there, but they make only seven sounds. 악 안 앋 알
- 8 Real words These are words from the first story you will read. If you can sound them out, you are ready. 말 집 문 앞
