-듯이
Just as, like
-듯이 compares one action or fact to another: “just as…”, “like…”. It lives in many set phrases: 밥 먹듯이 (as often as eating — all the time), 물 쓰듯이 (like water — wastefully). In writing it also links two things that work the same way: 사람마다 얼굴이 다르듯이 생각도 다르다.
Examples
호야 씨는 밥 먹듯이 지각해요.
Hoya is late as often as he eats.
돈을 물 쓰듯이 쓰면 안 돼요.
You shouldn't spend money like water.
사람마다 얼굴이 다르듯이 생각도 달라요.
Just as everyone's face is different, so are their thoughts.
