-기는커녕
Far from…
-기는커녕 means “far from…, not even…”: what you expected didn't happen, and something less — or the opposite — happened instead. Attach it to a verb or adjective stem; with nouns, use N은/는커녕. The second half often has 도 or 조차.

Examples
주말에 쉬기는커녕 일을 더 했어요.
Far from resting at the weekend, I worked even more.
선생님은 칭찬은커녕 한마디도 안 하셨어요.
Far from praising me, the teacher didn't say a word.
누워서 먹으니까 쉽기는커녕 목에 걸렸어요.
I ate lying down, and far from being easy, it got stuck in my throat.
