-(으)ㄴ/는 데(에)
In doing …, for …
-는 데 turns an action into “in doing …” or “for doing …”, and it's followed by words such as 걸리다 (take time), 필요하다 (need), 쓰다 (use), 좋다 (be good for) and 도움이 되다 (help). Mind the space: -는 데 here is a different thing from -는데 (“and”, “but”).
