V-(으)려던 참이다
I was just about to …
참 is “the very moment”. -(으)려던 참이다 says you were on the point of doing something right now — often when someone beats you to it. It is about this moment only, so it never goes with tomorrow or next week. 마침 and 안 그래도 often come before it.
Examples
안 그래도 전화하려던 참이었어요.
I was just about to call you.
마침 나가려던 참이에요. 같이 가요.
I'm just about to head out. Let's go together.
저도 지금 밥을 먹으려던 참이었어요.
I was just about to eat too.
