V-(으)려고 하다
Planning to…
-(으)려고 해요 says what you intend or are planning to do. After a vowel add -려고, after a consonant -으려고; stems that end in ㄹ take -려고 with no 으. In the past, -(으)려고 했어요 often means “I was going to… (but something happened)”.

다음 달에 제주도에 가려고 해요.
I'm planning to go to Jeju next month.
주말에 한라산에 올라가려고 해요.
I'm planning to climb Hallasan at the weekend.
오늘은 집에서 쉬려고 했어요. 그런데 친구가 왔어요.
I was going to rest at home today. But a friend came round.
