-더니
I saw… and then
-더니 links something you saw happen — to someone else, or to the weather — with what came next or what changed. The subject is usually not you; for your own actions, use -았/었더니. Because it rests on what you witnessed, it can also mark a contrast: yesterday one way, today another.
Examples
아침에는 하늘이 흐리더니 오후에 비가 왔어요.
The sky was cloudy in the morning, and in the afternoon it rained.
호야 씨가 매일 연습하더니 노래를 정말 잘하게 됐어요.
Hoya practised every day, and now he sings really well.
동생이 어제는 아프더니 오늘은 괜찮아요.
My brother was ill yesterday, but today he's fine.
