-기(를) 바라다
To hope (that someone will …)
-기(를) 바라다 expresses a hope or wish, usually for someone else: 네가 행복하기를 바란다. It is the natural way to close letters, cards and speeches — 건강하시기를 바랍니다. The 해요 form is 바라요; 바래요 is a common slip in writing (바래다 means “to fade”).
