In native review Taught in Unit 1: I tend to be a bit impatient

처럼 and 같이 attach to a noun to make a comparison: 고양이처럼 순해요 — “gentle like a cat”. They mean the same thing, and both are written without a space. Don't mix this up with 같이 “together” after 하고: 친구하고 같이 가요.

Examples

  • 호야 씨는 고양이처럼 순해요.

Hoya is as gentle as a cat.

  • 우리 할머니는 아이처럼 웃으세요.

My grandmother laughs like a child.

  • 손이 얼음같이 차가워요.

Your hands are as cold as ice.
