-던데요
I noticed … (so what do you think?)
Like -더라고요 (Unit 6), -던데요 reports something you noticed in the past. But it leaves the sentence open, hinting at a “so …” or a “but …”. It's common when you pass on something the listener might not know, or gently disagree.
Examples
아까 이 창문이 열려 있던데요.
I noticed this window was open earlier.
호야 씨요? 아까 도서관에 있던데요.
Hoya? I saw him in the library a little while ago.
그 식당은 비싸지 않던데요.
That restaurant didn't seem expensive to me.
