-자고 하다
Passing on a suggestion
For suggestions — “let's …” — add -자고 하다 to any verb stem. “Let's not” becomes -지 말자고. The original might be 같이 가요! or 같이 갈까요? — both are passed on as 가자고.
Examples
사장님이 금요일에 다 같이 저녁을 먹자고 하셨어요.
The boss suggested we all have dinner together on Friday.
친구가 주말에 영화를 보자고 했어요.
My friend suggested seeing a film at the weekend.
수진 씨가 오늘은 일찍 퇴근하자고 했어요.
Sujin suggested we leave work early today.
