-다고 하다
Passing on what someone said
To pass on a statement, put it in its plain form and add -다고 하다. Adjectives take -다고, verbs in the present take -ㄴ/는다고, anything in the past takes -았/었다고, and nouns take (이)라고. In speech, -다고 해요 often shortens to -대요: 쉰대요.

사장님이 내일 쉬신다고 하셨어요.
The boss said he's off tomorrow.
수진 씨가 요즘 바쁘다고 했어요.
Sujin said she's busy these days.
호야 씨가 호떡을 벌써 다 먹었다고 했어요.
Hoya said he'd already eaten all the hotteok.
