V-는 바람에
Because (something unexpected happened)
-는 바람에 gives a sudden or unexpected cause that led to a bad result. It always takes -는, even when the story is in the past; the tense goes at the end. It can't be followed by a suggestion or a request, and it isn't used for good results.
Examples
늦게 일어나는 바람에 아침을 못 먹었어요.
I got up late, so I missed breakfast.
갑자기 비가 오는 바람에 옷이 다 젖었어요.
It suddenly rained, and my clothes got soaked.
휴대폰을 떨어뜨리는 바람에 화면이 깨졌어요.
I dropped my phone, and the screen cracked.
