The formal ‘let's…’

Taught in Speech Room, Unit 2: Formal style 2: at work and on announcements

-(으)십시오 says ‘please do it’ to someone. To say ‘let's do it’ to a group in the same formal voice — in a meeting, a speech, a slogan — you need this ending.

Example

  • 오늘은 여기까지 합시다.

    Let's stop here for today.
