Have you ever…?
Taught in Level 2, Unit 8: Have you been to Jeju?
before you plan a trip, the first question is 'have you been?'. You already say 가 봤어요 (I tried going). This unit gives you the question that asks about your whole life, not one day.
Example
한복을 입어 본 적이 없어요.
I've never worn a hanbok.
