What you can do after Level 8
- Choose and write negotiation lines that set a condition, give ground or confirm an agreement (-는 선에서, -는 조건으로, -(으)ㄹ 용의가 있다, -기로 합의하다).
- Write a notice or set of rules (rule, then exception) and a business plan or proposal (aim, current state, plan, expected effect) for invented organisations (-(으)ㄹ 것, -(으)ㅁ을 원칙으로 한다, 단, … 그러하지 아니하다).
- Read the abstract, literature review and limitations section of a paper and critique them.
- Read a poem or short story (out of copyright) with imagery and implied meaning, and give your reading with evidence from the text.
- (Optional unit) Read the old written endings -노라 and -(으)리라 and put them into modern Korean (recognition only).
- Choose between words with the same meaning by their tone (formal or casual, feeling, Sino-Korean or native).
- Use idioms, proverbs and four-character expressions where they fit, and avoid overusing them.
- Read and understand a written oral history that uses older people's speech and dialect words.
- Read several pieces on one issue and write an evaluation that weighs them (1,200–1,500 characters).
- Write a script for chairing a meeting (opening, agenda, summing up, closing) and read the chair's lines aloud (summing up and holding an item over).
