As X changes, Y changes — moving in step (written)
Taught in Level 5, Unit 3: Prices up, pay the same
economic news is a chain of causes that move together — as prices rise, spending falls; as the weather turns cold, vegetables cost more. You know N에 따라 ('depending on N', L3-U12) and the -(으)ㅁ noun form (L4-U05). Joined, they give the written 'as A happens, B happens'.
Example
기온이 내려감에 따라 난방비 부담도 커지고 있다.
As the temperature drops, the burden of heating costs is growing.
