Humble words: lowering myself to honour you

Taught in Speech Room, Unit 4: Honorifics 2: 께서 and special words

honorific words raise the person you honour. Humble words lower YOU — and they are the natural partners for 께. You already heard 드려요, and L2-U07 promised '드릴게요' would be explained here.

Example

  • 제가 할머니께 차를 드렸어요.

    I gave Grandmother some tea.
