I hope… / I wish…
Taught in Level 2, Unit 11: Reasons and wishes
-고 싶어요 says what YOU want to do. But you also hope for things you cannot do yourself — the weather, a friend's answer, next week. This is how Korean hopes.
Example
이번 주말에 날씨가 맑으면 좋겠어요.
I hope the weather is clear this weekend.
