Taught in Level 2, Unit 9: I just moved house
after a move, everybody asks 이사한 지 얼마나 됐어요? — 'how long is it since you moved?'. The same question comes up about living in Korea, learning Korean, a new job. Korean counts the time from the event: 'since I did it, N has become'.
Example
한국에 온 지 일 년 됐어요.
It's been a year since I came to Korea.
