-(으)ㄴ/는 척하다
Pretend to …
once you can say how someone looks and what they are like, you can say when it is an act. Pretending to be fine, pretending not to hear, pretending to know: these are daily events and daily jokes, and 척하다 is the only tool.
Example
제 동생은 자는 척하고 설거지를 안 해요.
My little sister pretends to be asleep and doesn't do the dishes.
