Perhaps because… — a guess at the cause
an essay states its reasons firmly, but daily life is full of guesses: 'maybe it is because I slept badly'. You know -(으)ㄴ/는지 and -아서/어서 already. This phrase joins them into one natural way to say 'perhaps because…, …'.
Example
월요일이라서 그런지 지하철에 사람이 많네요.
Maybe because it's Monday, there are lots of people on the subway.
