Plain style (해라체) — the voice of writing
Taught in Level 4, Unit 5: Technology and everyday life (written style)
since Unit 1 every sentence you have said ends in 요. But the texts of Level 4 — news, essays, diaries, textbooks, and the letter you have been reading — are not written to a person standing in front of you. They use a different set of endings. From now on you can read them, and write like them.
Example
나는 매일 지하철에서 책을 읽는다.
I read a book on the subway every day.
