N에 있어요 / 없어요
Where something is
Taught in Level 1, Unit 3: Where is it?
in Unit 2 you learned 있어요/없어요 for “there is / there isn't”. Now you add where — the particle 에 turns “it exists” into “it is at this place”.
To say where something is, put 에 on the place, then 있어요 (it is there) or 없어요 (it is not there). The thing you are talking about takes 이/가 (or 은/는 when it is the topic). 에 does not change: it is the same after a consonant or a vowel.
Examples
소리쌤은 소나무에 있어요.
Sori-ssaem is in the pine tree.
저는 지금 집에 있어요.
I'm at home now.
제 방에 텔레비전이 없어요.
There's no TV in my room.
