여기 · 거기 · 저기
Here and there
Taught in Level 1, Unit 3: Where is it?
to answer “where?” you point. The three distances match 이 · 그 · 저 from Unit 2.
여기 is “here” (near me), 거기 is “there” (near you, or a place we just mentioned), 저기 is “over there” (far from both of us). They are places, so they work like any other place word: 여기에 있어요, 저기에 있어요. In everyday speech 에 is often dropped after them: 여기 있어요.
