-았/었더니

I did it, and then I found… (my own action and its result)

-더니 cannot describe your own action. When you want 'I sang along, and my pronunciation improved' or 'I slept well, and my body is light', you need the counterpart. -았/었더니 is the version for what you yourself did.

Example

잠을 푹 잤더니 몸이 가벼워요.
I slept deeply, and my body feels light.
