Only once I'd done it… (a one-time realisation)
Taught in Level 4, Unit 6: Pop culture
-다 보니 is about slow change. But sometimes you finish one action and only then see the truth: the bag is empty, the actor is your friend's brother. Korean marks that moment with -고 보니, and keeping the two apart is the point of this unit.
