V-아/어야지요 · V-았/었어야지요
I should…, you should (have)…
the scene ends with a small telling-off: the bag should not have been by the window. In Unit 8 you met -아/어야겠다, a decision about yourself. -아/어야지요 is its chattier cousin: 'of course I should…', 'you should…', and in the past, 'you should have…'.
Example
벌써 열 시네요. 이제 집에 가야죠.
It's already ten. I should head home now.
