V-는 한 · V-지 않는 한 · 내가 아는 한 · 가능한 한
As long as / as far as — a condition that has to keep holding
-(으)면 says 'if'. To make a claim careful — 'as far as I know', 'unless you …' — you tie it to a condition that must stay true. That is how careful speakers and writers hedge without sounding weak.
Example
제가 아는 한 그 가게는 일요일에도 문을 열어요.
As far as I know, that shop is open on Sundays too.
