V-는 게 좋겠다
It would be better to…, you should…
to give a friend advice — 'you had better go to bed early' — you need something softer than a command. This is the everyday Korean way to recommend: it does not order, it says what would be good.
Example
시험 전날에는 일찍 자는 게 좋겠어요.
It would be better to go to bed early the night before the exam.
