-기(를) 바라다
To hope that… — the wish that closes a letter
Taught in Level 4, Unit 12: Hoya reads the letter (Level 4 review)
the letter does not end with a command but with a hope: 'I hope you will write back'. You already know -(으)면 좋겠어요 for everyday wishes. -기를 바라다 is the wish you write at the end of a letter, a card or a speech, and it is how you hope for someone else's good.
Example
네가 하는 일이 모두 잘되기를 바란다.
I hope everything you do goes well.
