V-아/어 놓다 · 두다 / V-아/어야겠다
Do it in advance and leave it; and 'I'd better …'
Taught in Level 3, Unit 8: I almost missed the bus
once things have gone wrong, you decide how to do better next time — and that decision has two parts. -아/어야겠다 says 'I'd better …' (the resolution), and -아/어 놓다/두다 says 'do it in advance and leave it ready' (the action).
Example
여행 전에 호텔을 예약해 놓았어요.
I booked the hotel before the trip.
