If only I had… / If … had been (a past that did not happen)
Taught in Level 4, Unit 1: If I won the lottery
-다면 imagines something that may still happen. But much of what people imagine is already over: 'if I had known…', 'if I had left earlier…'. For a past that did not happen you need a shape that closes the door, and here it is.
Example
지난주에 표를 예매했더라면 콘서트를 볼 수 있었을 거예요.
If I had booked a ticket last week, I could have seen the concert.
